Mason Boys hoops opened their season on Friday at the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic. The Comets battled but fell in their opener 58-47 to Little Miami. A tough 2nd quarter did them in being outscored 24-8.

Mason was led by Jacob Lupinski's 15 points and Brycen Johnson's 11.

The Comets are back in action on Tuesday, 12/3 at St. Xavier.

Mason Boys Basketball ran into a buzz saw last Tuesday at St. Xavier. The Comets tumbled in a 64-29 loss to the the Bombers. St. X's relentless defense pushed Mason into 15 turnovers and 11-36 shooting.

Next up, Mason will host Princeton TONIGHT, Friday, 12/6 for the Comets first GMC matchup of the young season.

The Comets fell to Princeton at home on Friday by a 74-51 final. The Vikes put up 44 first half points to Mason's 19. The second half was fairly even scoring but Mason couldn't overcome the slow start.

Wyatt Cooper led Mason in scoring with 13 points, Masim Cherpalin had 10.

Next up, Mason boys host Colerain on Tuesday.

Mason Boys Basketball earned a 55-54 win over Colerain on Tueady night. The Comets held a 30-22 half-time advantage and then held off the Cardinals over the final two quarters. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Wyatt Cooper added 13.

Mason returns to action on Friday at Fairfield.

Mason Boys Bball fell at Fairfield lasat Friday 67-46. The Indians fast start was too much to overcome in the Comets 2nd half. Cole Swanson led Mason with 8 points. Brycen Johnson and Dylan Ringwald each scored 7.

Mason is back in action on Tuesday, 12/17 when they host Oak Hills.

Mason Basketball fell at home to Oak Hills on Tuesday by a 49-28 final. Dylan Ringwald led the Comets with 9 points. Mason couldn't overcome a slow start and fell behind early in the game.

Next up, Mason will host Sycamore on Friday with a boys and girls varsity double-header. The girls tip off at 6:00 pm and boys at at approx. 7:30 pm. The Mason 2024 State Champion Baseball team will be honored at halftime of the boys game as they recieve their state title rings.

The Comets suffered a 71-42 loss at Princeton on Tuesday, 1/7. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 14 points.

Mason (2-9, 2-5) will host Middletown on Friday, 1/10.

The Comets took another loss at the hands of Middletown this past Saturday. Final score was 80-54. Austin Trenz's 14 points led Mason.

Mason is back in action on Tuesday, at home versus Fairfield.

Mason Boys took Fairfield to overtime on Tuesday, but unfortuantely the Comets came a little short falling 66-60. Mason raced out to a 18-8 first quarter lead over the Indians. The 2nd quarter Fairfield battled back and trail by 3 at the half. The final two quarters the lead exchanged several times. Fairfield was able outscore the Cometws 12-6 in overtime.

The loss negated an a season-high 24 points by Wyatt Cooper. Brycen Johnson added 17.

Mason will play at Lakota West on Friday, 1/17.

The Comets suffered a tough loss at West last Friday by a 66-29 final. Shooting/scoring was difficult all night for Mason.

The team will seek a non-conference win TONIGHT, Tuesday, 1/122 when they host Withrow at the arena.

Mason Boys Bball earned a non-conference win last Tuesday, defeating visiting Withrow 65-31. No information or stats is available.

Next up, Mason will host Hamilton TONIGHT at the Arena.

In a very close home contest last Friday, the Comets gave Big Blue all they wanted, but fell a little short, losing to Hamilton 53-49. Mason was behind 29-26 at the half, but could make up the difference in the 2nd half. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 17 points while RJ Wilson chipped in 14.

Mason visits Sycamore on Tuesday, 1/28.

Mason Boys Bball fell at Sycamore on Tuesday night by a 46-35 final. A close game got away from the Comets in the fourth quarter with the Aves outscoring Mason 12-4 in the final frame. Dylan Ringwalds' 12 points led Mason.

Next up, Mason will visit Lakota East on Friday, 1/31.

Mason Boys took a loss to GMC rival on Friday. The from Lakota East was 59-26. Maxim Cherpalin's 10 points led Mason.

Next up, the Comets play a non-conference game at Moeller on Tuesday, 2/4.

Mason Boys visited Moeller on Monday for a non-conference battle. The Crusaders raced off to a first quarter 22-8 advantage. The Comets narrowed the lead in the next frame, but ultimately the deficit was too much to overcome. The final score was 59-44. Dylan Ringwald had 13 for Mason and Brycen Johnson added 10.

Mason will visit Middletown on Friday.

Mason Boys Bball earned a big GMC on Friday at Middletown defeating the Middies 59-44. Brycen Johnson had a big night with 24 points. Tyler Lupinski also contributed wit h15 nd Maxim Cherplin added 11 off the bench.

The Comets head into the final week of the regular season. They will visit Oak Hills on Tuesday and then host West on Friday.

The Comets fell at Oak Hills on Tuesday 41-34. It was a very close battle going to the last few minutes when Oak Hills pulled away. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 11 points.

Mason will host West for the regular season finale on Friday, 2/14 (Senior night).

Mason Boys Bball ended their regular season last Friday on senior night with a loss to Lakota West by a score of 55-41. It was a GREAT night to celebrate our 2 Seniors, Braylan Payton and Dylan Ringwald!  Congratulations to our JV and Freshmen teams on excellent season!

The Comets trailed 29-13 at the half and couldn't overcome the deficit over the last 16 minutes. Three Mason players hit double figures: Brycen Johnson 14, Dylan Ringwald and Tyler Lupinski 10.

The Comets will play Princeton at Lakota West in the first round of the Sectional. That game is slated for Friday, 2/21 at 7:30 pm.

Mason Boys Basketball season came to a close on Friday with a 82-47 loss at the hands of Princeton in the 1st round of the Sectional postseason tourney. The Vikings demonstrated why they are one of the top seeds in the OHSAA brackets. For Mason, it brings to a conclusion their 2024-25 season.

On Friday, 11/29 the Comets defeated Lebanon in an away affair. Once again three players were in double digits: Parrish with 31, Habra with 19 and Addy Gillman with 10.

Mason (3-0) goes on the road Wednesday for a huge GMC battle at Princeton.

Mason defeated rival Princeton on Wednesday in a big GMC matchup. The Vikings and Comets were in a tight battle in the first half. The score stood at 24-24 at the break. In the third quarter Mason broke the game open outscoring the Vikes 23-5 and then holding on in the fourth to come away with a 57-46 victory.

Mason had three players hit double figure scoring; Madison Parrish 22, Anna Habra 15 and Taylor Stanfield 12. Stanfield snarred a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Mason Girls (4-0, 1-0) will host Colerain on Saturday.

Mason Girls Bball goes to 5-0 on the season with a 86-32 whallop of Colerain on Saturday. The Comets led the Cardinals 47-17 at the half and coasted from there. Four Comets scored in double figures: Jazz Johnson 21, Taylor Stanfield and Anna Habra 14, Madison Parrish 10.

Next for the girsls is an away game at Fairfield on Wednesday, 12/11.

Mason Girls Basketball stayed perfect on the season on Monday defeating Lakota West 51-37 in an away contest. The Comets opened up a big advantage in the third quarter outscoring the Firebirds 17-8.

Madison Parrish continued her onslaught of the GMC with 26 points. Taylor Stanfield snarred 11 rebounds.

Mason (6-0, 3-0) will visit Fairfield TONIGHT, Wed. 12/11.

Mason Girls moved to 7-0 on the season with a 54-31 victory at Fairfield on Wednesday. The Comets (4-0 GMC) pulled away in the 2nd half outscoring the Indians 34-13 down the stretch. Madison Parrish led Mason with 15 points as the team got balanced scoring from 6 other players.

Mason will host Oak Hills on Saturday for another big league battle.

Mason girl's basketball squeaked by Oak Hills at home on Saturday to keep their record perfect on the season. The final score was 41-39. The Comets trailed Oak Hills 21-18, but rallied in the third quarter to overcome the Highlander lead. Anna Habra led Mason with 18 points and Madison Parrish added 15.

Mason Girls Basketball stayed perfect over the recent Winter Break. The Comets ran their unfeated record to an amazing 11-0 overall and 7-0 in the GMC. Below are recaps of winter break action.

On Friday, 12/20, the Comets defeated GMC foe Sycamore 48-31 in a boy/girls double-header at the Arena. Anna Habra led Mason with 20 points and Taylor Stanfield added 13 and 9 carooms.

Last Saturday, 1/4, the Comets once again dominated with a 74-36 whipping at Colerain. No stat details available.

The Comets are back in action at home versus Princeton TONIGHT, Wed. 1/8.

Mason continued their onslaught on the GMC with two big wins this past week.

On Wednesday, 1/8 they defeated Princeton at home by a score of 54-43. The Comets led at the half 30-25. Four players were in double figures: Madison Parrish 18, Anna Habra 14, Taylor Stanfield and Addy Gillman 10.

On Saturday, Mason ran thier undefeated record to 13-0 and 9-0 in the GMC with a 71-38 win over visiting Middletown. Once again four Comets were in double-digits: Madison Parrish 15, Anna Habra 14, Taylor Stanfield 12 and Jazz Johnson 10. Stanfield notched a double-double with 12 rebounds.

Mason will host Fairfield on Wednesday, 1/15.

Mason rebounded on Monday in their 2nd game at the Classic in the Country, defeating Cleveland Olmsted Falls 46-35. The Comets rushed out to a 27-18 lead at the half, then added to their lead in the third quarter to pick up their 15th win of the season (15-1). Madison Parrish scored 20 to lead the Comets with Anna Habra adding 13.

Mason returns to GMC play where they are undefeated (10-0) and host Hamilton on Wednesday, 1/22.

Mason Girls Bball advanced their GMC record to an undefeated 11-0 on Wednesday, downing Hamilton 68-37. The Comets had a 10 point lead at the half and saw that advantage increase in the final two quarters. Madison Parrish's 15 points lead Mason. Almost every player got in on the scoring action.

Next, Mason (16-1) will visit Sycamore on Saturday.

Mason Girls go to 17-1 overall and 12-0 in the GMC with a 54-39 win at Sycamore last Saturday. The Comets raced out to a 26-17 lead at the half and never looked back. Taylor Stanfield led Mason with 19 points. Anna Habra had 14, and Madison Parrish 10. Stanfield had a huge double-double, pulling down 20 rebounds in the contest.

Next up, Mason will play at GMC rival East on Wednesday, 1/29. The Hawks are 11-1 in the GMC and will be looking to share the league lead with a win.

The Comet Girls Basketball team moved one step closer to a GMC title on Wednesday, opening up a two-game lead in the conference with a 59-39 victory at Lakota East. With approx. one week remaining in the regular season, Mason has three league games remaining on their schedule.

A close first half (30-24) turned into a 2nd half rout as the Comets outscored the Hawks 29-15 down the stretch. Three Mason players led the way: Madison Parrish 22, Taylor Stanfield 15 nd Anna Habra 14.

Mason (18-1, 13-0) will visit Middletown on Saturday.

Mason Girls pounded Middletown on Saturday, 72-26 and clinched at least a share of the 2024-25 GMC title, with only two league games remaining. The Comets were led by Maddison Parrish 19, Anna Habra 14 and Taylor Stanfield 10.

Mason Girls earned their 20th win of the season on Wednesday holding off Oak Hills 43-36. The Comets held a 25-12 advantage at halftime and them stopped a Highlander come-back in the second half. Madison Parrish was high scorer with 14 points.

Mason (15-0 GMC) will look to finish their regular season and "run-the-table" in the GMC on Saturday when they host Lakota West.

Mason Girls Basketball Captures 2024-25 GMC Championship

The Mason Comets Girls Basketball Team has once again asserted its dominance, clinching the 2024-25 Greater Miami Conference (GMC) Championship with a perfect 16-0 league record. The Comets sealed their title run on Saturday, February 8th, with a commanding 52-36 victory over Lakota West at home.

This marks Mason’s fifth consecutive GMC title and eighth overall, further cementing the program’s place among Ohio’s elite. The Comets also achieved the rare feat of an undefeated conference season, running the table in the GMC for the second time in program history—the first coming in the 2020-21 Covid season (14-0).

Mason set the tone early against Lakota West, surging to a 21-8 first-quarter lead before heading into halftime with a 36-19 advantage. The Comets' balanced attack was led by Anna Habra, who posted a game-high 14 points, while Addy Gillman contributed 12 points to the win.

Mason Girls Basketball punched their ticket to the next round of the OHSAA playoffs on Wednesday at Fairfield defeating Western Hills 62-10. The Comets completely dominated the action with balanced scoring from almost every player. No other details available.

Mason (22-1, 16-0) advances to the District Final on Saturday to play Springfield HS (#4 seed) at Fairborn at 2:00 PM. The Comet Girls will be seeking their 5th consecutive District Championship and 11th overall D1 title.

Saturday's winner advances to the Sweet 16 and will play a Regional Semi-Final matchup against the Northwest 1 winner on Tuesday, 2/25 at Fairborn at 7:00 pm.

COMET GIRLS BASKETBALL WINS 5TH STRAIGHT DISTRICT TITLE!

The Mason Girls Basketball team continued their dominance, securing their fifth consecutive OHSAA Southwest District Championship with a decisive 67-47 victory over Springfield High School on Saturday. With the win, the Comets punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 Regionals. This marks Mason's 11th overall Division I district title and the first under new head coach Gideon Dudgeon.

Mason entered the postseason with just one loss, and Saturday's victory was another statement performance. The Comets have made a habit of overpowering their opponents, winning 12 games this season by margins of 20 points or more.

Leading the way was Anna Habra, who delivered a near double-double with 30 points and nine rebounds, while shooting an impressive 87% from the field—her best percentage since January 2024. Taylor Stanfield also had a strong outing, contributing 17 points and eight rebounds.

With their ninth straight win, Mason improves to 23-1 on the season.

Next up, the Comets will face Perrysburg High School in a Sweet Sixteen Regional Semifinal on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 7:00 p.m. at Fairborn High School. Perrysburg, the No. 2 seed, advanced after upsetting Northwest's No. 1 seed 41-29.

Mason is looking to break through to the Regional Finals after back-to-back semifinal exits in the past two seasons. A victory would put the Comets in position to compete for their 7th Regional Title. The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to face either Springboro or Upper Arlington on Saturday, March 1, with a Final Four berth on the line.

Mason Girls Basketball had no trouble Tuesday night in their Regional Semi-Final. The Comets overwhelmed Perrysburg at Fairborn HS by a final score of 66-22. The Comets raced out to a 22-6 first quarter lead and never looked back. Mason shot a sizzling 53% from the floor.

Seniors Madison Parrish and Jazz Johnson got into double digits in the Mason win, and Parrish chipped in seven assists. Mason outrebounded its opponent 27-7 and turned the ball over just five times, making more than 50% of its field goals and more than 40% of its 3-pointers.

Mason (24-1) will seek their 7th Regional Title and advancement to the State Final Four this Saturday, March 1st (5:00 pm) back at Fairborn. The Comets will take on a familar foe in Springboro HS (21-4) in the Regional Final. The Panthers ended Mason's tourney run in 2024 in the Regional Semi-Final game by a score of 71-64. Springboro was the 2023-24 Regional Champion and State Runnerup.

GIRLS FINISH SEASON AS REGIONAL RUNNER-UP

The Mason Girls Basketball team’s remarkable season came to an end on Saturday in the Regional Final, as Springboro claimed a 59-44 victory. Despite the loss, the Comets’ journey was nothing short of extraordinary, highlighted by impressive performances and the farewell of a true Mason legend.

Springboro wasted no time setting the tone, with Martin knocking down a three-pointer just 10 seconds into the game. The Panthers held a slim 12-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, thanks to a pair of clutch free throws by Tessa Blain.

In the second quarter, Springboro stretched their advantage to 10, but the Comets responded with a surge. A three-pointer from Taylor Stanfield and two strong finishes at the rim by Anna Habra trimmed the deficit, keeping Mason within striking distance.

The Comets (24-2) battled back to within four points, but Martin, a Washington signee, delivered a key bucket to close out the first half with the Panthers ahead 25-19.

Mason standout Madison Parrish came out firing in the second half, scoring right away to cut the gap to four. However, Martin answered with an old-fashioned three-point play, pushing the lead back to seven.

Parrish, a future West Virginia Mountaineer, kept the Comets in the fight, knocking down back-to-back threes to pull Mason within two. But Springboro responded with timely baskets from Martin and Trent, regaining control at 33-27.

The Panthers carried a 37-30 lead into the fourth quarter, and a free throw from Brooke Clear extended the gap to double digits at 42-32 with just over six minutes remaining. Despite Mason’s relentless effort, they were unable to get any closer than eight points the rest of the way.

While the season didn’t end the way the Comets had hoped, their achievements were undeniable. With a talented core of underclassmen returning, the future remains bright for Mason. Still, the departure of Madison Parrish, a four-year cornerstone of the program, leaves a void that won’t be easy to fill.

The Boys Swim/Dive team opened their season at home on Saturday hosting the annual Mason Invite. The Boys finsihed 2nd overall with many swimming in their first HS meet.

For the second consecutive year, the Mason Girls Swimming & Diving Team earned the title of OHSAA State Runner-Up! Mason sent their largest contingent ever to state with a total of 23 boys and girls competing at the State Championships.

Leading the charge was Bella Teply, who delivered a spectacular performance by winning two State Championships in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. The junior standout improved on last year’s runner-up finishes in the 200 and 500 Freestyle, securing her place among the state’s elite swimmers. Bella became the 5th female swimmer in Comet history to win a state title!

Mason Wrestling earned two wins this past Saturday to close out their regular season. The Comets defeated Winton Woods 60-14 and Kings 40-39. Congratulations to the Comet Freshman wrestlers who finished 5th overall at the past weekends Freshman All-State Invite at Dublin Scioto. Nash Werner and Abdallah Alqaraja earned individual titles. It was a strong showing for the Mason Wrestling Comets at the Sectional Championships this past Saturday! A total of 12 Mason wrestlers made the podium, with seven athletes qualifying for next weekend’s District Championships, where they will battle for a spot at the OHSAA State Championships.

The District Championships took place on Friday and Saturday at Fairmont’s Trent Arena, where the top four finishers in each weight class would secure a coveted spot at the OHSAA State Championships. Seven Mason wrestlers stepped onto the mats, determined to compete at the highest level:

Despite fierce competition, none of the Comet wrestlers were able to advance to the state tournament. Their dedication and hard work throughout the season were evident, and they proudly represented Mason at one of the toughest stages in Ohio wrestling.

Girls Bowling opened their season on Monday at home vs. Springboro falling to the Panthers in a close one, 1809-1805. The girls had a terrific start to the season falling just 4 pins short of a victory. The team was led by freshman starter Ava Terry with a 307n2 game series. She was followed closely by Junior Lacey Doll.

The Mason Girls Bowling Team competed in the Sectional Tournament last week, finishing 13th out of 18 teams. While no Comets advanced to Districts, the team showed great effort and determination throughout the season.

The Mason Boys Bowlers had a good weekend, they finished 7th overall out of 25 teams at the Lancer Tourney at NW Lanes. That put them into the knockout round and they defeated Lebanon in a best 2 out of three match. That victory set them up against the top seated Beevercreek, the boys bowled well but fell in 2 games. There were some very good bright spots and the boys are really starting to come together as a highly competitive team.

Sunday, Boys Varsity Bowling had a great day, bowling in the Cardinal Classic Tournament at Northwest Lanes. They all bowled well but were led by Drew Freemans 504 2-game series. That series was good enough for Drew to come in second place as an individual.

Overall, the boys were in 3rd place after a shootout with 4th place Oak Hills. In the end, the boys fought for the championship against Beavercreek and came in second place.

It was a very good day and the Mason Boys are really hitting their stride. Many more good things are on the horizon for the Comets.

Mason Boys bowled on Saturday in the East/West Challenge at Western Lanes. After the first found they were in the 1st position and earned a bye. The Comets were in the lead due to Ryan Monahan and Drew elegeer placing second and third overall. They finished losing to Milford in the semi-finals.

Overall, another good day for the men's bowling team as they load up for a very important match TODAY, 1/27 vs Middletown.

On Monday, Mason Boys Bowling held off a surging Middletown team in order to snatch a victory in a much needed GMC match. The Comets scored a 2682 to Middletown's 2656. The team was shown the way by Ryan Monahan, with a 447. However the top score of the day belonged to up and comer Noah Rumanski. It was another very good day for the Comets!
